Le 20 Avril 1992, l'un des plus grands évènements Rock de l'histoire de la musique a eu lieu au Stade de Wembley à Londres. Queen a fait ses adieux à son chanteur, Freddie Mercury, emporté par le sida en jouant avec une pléiade d'invités pour un concert spectaculaire.

Le Freddy Mercury Tribute Concert contient la deuxième partie de l'évènement longue de 105 minutes. Les membres de Queen, Brian May, John Deacon et Roger Taylor ont été accompagnés sur ce Best-Of par des musiciens de différents horizons. Des performances stupéfiantes avec Roger Daltrey (chanteur de The Who), Tony Iommi (guitariste de Black Sabbath), le chanteur légendaire de Led Zeppelin, Robert Plant ("Crazy Little Thing Called Love"), Joe Elliott, frontman de Def Leppard et Slash de Guns N'Roses ("Tie Your Mother Down"), James Hetfield de Metallica et Tony Iommi ("Stone Cold Crazy") et Lisa Stanfield ("I Want To Break Free") pour une interprétation magistrale. On y retrouve également des moments plus calmes avec Paul Young ("Radio Ga Ga"), David Bowie et Annie Lenox de Eurythmics ("Under Pressure"), Elton John ("Bohemian Rhapsody", "The Show Must Go On") et George Michael en invité spécial ("39", "These Are The Days Of Our Life", "Somebody To Love"). Le moment le plus émouvant est le solo de Brian May avec son solo sur le titre d'adieu "Too Much Love Will Kill You".
